TINA WEAVER LABRIOLA

8/18/68-1/10/02

Thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday, and days before that too. I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have are memories and a picture in a frame. Your memory is a keepsake, with which I`ll never part. God has you in His keeping, I have you in my heart.

Thank you to all who participated in our 5th Annual Cinderella Sales.

Due to their success, we are able to award 2 scholarships to local high school Seniors who will be purusing a career in nursing.

If you would like to make a donation of prom related items for next year's sales, please visit our contact page for information.

Tina’s Fund For Domestic Violence Awareness was formed in 2006 in memory of Tina Weaver Labriola. Our goal is to bring education to the community, specifically our youth, about domestic violence and the effects it has.

The Tina Labriola Scholarship Fund has been established at Cumberland County College to grant scholarships to students   who wish to pursue a career in nursing. Fundraising events will be held throughout the year to add to this scholarship fund and to promote awareness.

Through the assistance of our local New Jersey State Senator, Jeff VanDrew and Assemblyman Nelson Albano, we are trying to change legislation regarding Restraining Orders and create a task force to research the current laws regarding domestic violence.

Our ultimate goal is to bring more education about domestic violence prevention into our school systems. We would like to start a school program entitled SODA (Students Opposing Domestic Abuse). This would be a group where students could meet to discuss healthy relationships and distribute information to other students.

YOU HEAR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

You're taking your nightly walk when you hear a fight going on at a neighbor's house.  Suddenly you hear a slap, a thud and the sound of a woman crying hysterically.

What should you do:  If you think domestic violence is taking place, immediately call 911.  Don't make the mistake of assuming that someone else already called for help and never, ever go to the door to check if things are OK.  In cases of domestic violence, passions are usually involved and that can be used against you.  Professional training is necessary to handle these situations.

Domestic violence is a crime just like robbery or assualt.  Report it.
